Full Life Gospel Ministries

Pastor Johnny HightowerFull Life Gospel Ministries was started in the living room of our Lithia Springs home in November 1999 with just 8 people. We grew quickly and moved into our basement and then converted our garage into a place to worship God. In 2001 we purchased a small building in Douglasville on Hwy 78 and God blessed us as we fixed it up and grew in spirit and truth. In 2005 we purchased three acres of land on Hwy 101 in Villa Rica upon which to build. In January 2008 we sold our Douglasville building and rented a building on Prospecter Drive in Villa Rica where we are now worshipping. This will allow us to grow our church in Villa Rica near the property where we are going to build. You can find pictures of our Worship Center under photos on our website. Full Life has always been a place of refuge for those who are hurting, lost, and/or in need of acceptance. We were and are called to be an Oasis of Rest for those who are weary and heavy laden.

In October 1999, my vision of Full Life Gospel Ministries was birthed in a motel in Dickson, Tenn. I wrote down what I believed a church of which I was a part should be as well as the mission for my ministry. It was incorporated into and made a part of our mission statement for Full Life.

FLGM Mission
The purpose of Full Life Gospel Ministries is to have an assembly where ALL are welcome to worship the Lord without the bonds of “Religion” and to grow in wisdom and knowledge of the Lord in a loving and encouraging atmosphere unto the full measure of Christ within each person. FLGM is dedicated to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His desire to have a personal relationship with His people throughout our community, our workplaces, our country and world, wherever the Spirit of God directs or opens up opportunities. Matthew 28:18-20

I believe that the message of love and hope is alive and well in our midst. It is this Spirit of love that is felt when we have new people come in. Our purpose as a church is to help everyone grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, to share the love of Christ with the entire world and to help each person find their place in the Body of Christ.

Ephesians 3:19 (NIV) and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

The primary ministry of Full Life is the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:11-21), Jesus Christ died for the sins of the whole world. We declare this truth in word, in song and in action. Our desire is to help everyone come to the knowledge and acceptance of the free gift provided upon the cross. It is the foundation upon which every part of Full Life has been built and operates.

1 Timothy 4:9-10 (NIV) 9 This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10 (and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.

Sunday school
We now have five Sunday school classes on Sunday mornings at 10am. We have an Adult class which meets in the sanctuary led by various leaders in the church who are anointed and gifted in their teachings. We have 4 youth classes, Nursery/Toddler/Pre-K, Elementary, Middle School and High School. All of our teaching is sound Bible based teaching with a heart to share the unconditional love and acceptance that Jesus Christ taught us. We will add additional classes and small group meetings for the needs of our blossoming congregation. We are prepared to move quickly to meet the needs of the Body as our congregation grows.

Song & Praise Service
Our praise team is awesome; I believe that God has anointed our worship leaders to truly lead our congregation in praise and worship of God Almighty. Our Song and Praise services are a mixture of the old and new. A typical service will include hymns, some southern gospel, and contemporary songs. Recently, a visiting minister described our music as Chris Tomlin meets Hank Williams. We desire to flow with the Holy Spirit in worship rather than a strict formula of music and songs. Our congregation is very mixed with 4 generations worshipping together which is a blessing for everyone. Our music includes keyboard, guitars, drums, tambourines and we have room to grow as God brings in the people with the talent and anointing to be part of the team.

Worship Service
During Sunday morning Worship services I preach a Biblical message that is relevant to the needs of our congregation. Our services are powerfully anointed and we deeply desire and welcome the movement of Holy Spirit and the gifts within the Body including prophecy and the gift of tongues. Our Sunday evening services are more relaxed and I or one of the other ministers preach the message or lead a Bible Study or discussion. On the first Sunday of each month, we have an 8:00 am service that is very relaxed and slower paced with a more country feel.

Youth Worship
We have a very active youth ministry with a service for 14 and under youth during the morning preaching service. Our desire is that our youth grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, that they be taught solid truths about our Lord that will be the foundation for the rest of their lives and their walk with Jesus Christ. I believe as we grow we will be splitting the youth into multiple groups by age. We are looking forward to adding whatever we need to take care of the people God sends to us.

Midweek Services
We now have Wednesday evening Bible Study led by different members of our congregation. I believe the future holds more diverse small group studies throughout the week, not just Wednesdays. We should be able to have some specialized groups that share topics that are of interest and allow growth in various areas depending on each person’s walk with Christ. Also we have a Wednesday night youth program for all ages and hope to eventually have a once a month Friday night teen gathering with music, message and snacks geared to give teenagers an alternative and to share the love of Jesus Christ in a unique way. We are ready to grow and minister as God opens up opportunities and directs and equips us for each area.

Building
We are finalizing plans for our building on Highway 101. We are going to build a 7500 sq. ft. facility with plans for additions as we grow. We are very excited about all that God is doing for our church. Our building plans are on display for everyone to see at our church.

Fellowship
Growing together as a family, the Body of Christ, is an important part of our church. We have dinner once a month at the church following the morning service. It is a great time to get to know one another, eat and relax together. We also have retreats and other activities from time to time. Check our weekly newsletters to see what is going on.

Thoughts
FLGM is a church that is open to everyone. We want you to feel free to come as you are, to experience the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus died for the sins of ALL and it is our mission to share the love of Christ with the whole world. We pray that God will direct you to worship wherever He desires you to be. If it is at Full Life then come be part of our church. If He directs you somewhere else, then please pray for God to empower us for the purpose to which we have been called.
